Home / Work / Managed IT & security
IT that just works,
without an in-house team.
A growing Canadian firm had no IT staff and a pile of unmanaged accounts, devices and security gaps. We took over the day-to-day: identity, devices, automated onboarding and offboarding, and a helpdesk their team can actually reach.
The challenge
IT was whoever happened to be free.
With no dedicated IT, new hires waited days for access while a manager set up accounts by hand. Devices went untracked, passwords were reused, and nobody could say with confidence who had access to what.
Departing staff sometimes kept access for weeks. There was no MFA, no patching routine and no one to call when something broke — just growing risk and lost time.
Our approach
One identity, automated lifecycle.
We started by getting the basics right: a single identity provider as the source of truth, MFA everywhere, and every device enrolled in management so it could be tracked, patched and wiped if lost.
Then we automated the lifecycle — joining, moving and leaving — so access is granted and revoked the moment HR makes a change, not whenever someone remembers.
What we put in place
Managed IT, end to end.
A clean foundation, automated where it counts, with a real human to call when it doesn't go to plan.
- Central identity & SSOOne provider for every app, with single sign-on so people stop juggling and reusing passwords.
- MFA, enforcedMulti-factor on every account, no exceptions, closing the most common door attackers use.
- Device management (MDM)Every laptop and phone enrolled, encrypted, patched on schedule and wipeable if it's lost.
- Automated on/offboardingA new hire is set up in hours; a departure revokes all access the same day, automatically.
- Backups & recoveryAutomated, tested backups so a lost laptop or bad day is an inconvenience, not a crisis.
- A helpdesk they can reachOne number and inbox for the whole team, answered in English or French, with clear response times.
The outcome
Lower risk, and one number to call.
New hires are productive on day one, and access ends the moment someone leaves. With MFA everywhere and every device managed, security incidents dropped sharply in the first six months.
The firm now has a clear picture of every account and device, a tested backup behind it, and a helpdesk their staff actually use — all without hiring an in-house IT team.
